DAVID FALVEY ANNOUNCED AS NEW COACH OF TIGERS

After a lackluster end to last season tigers have decided to make changes that they feel is essential to the success of the club. The first of these is the appointment of former coach Dave Falvey who in an exclusive interview with tigers.com outlines his goals and hopes for the upcoming season.

Dave said that in his second run as club coach he has certain personal goals that he is determined to achieve the focal point of which is the national cup which saw us last year failing to make the latter stages.  He has also stressed the importance of improving in the league which last year saw us failing to qualify from the southern conference. In order to achieve this Dave has called on resources and associations he has made down through the years to find the players which he feels are already shaping up to make a hugh impact on the Irish basketball scene.  Among these signings include Dave Fanning (6”1 point guard) who has been playing pro for a number of years since leaving college. Also James Mooney (6”3 Guard bosman player) who while in college in Mount St Vincent broke the all-time score record for the college in his final year, and Wilder August (6”7 Power Forward) who came highly recommended from Tigers former coach Russ Bradford.

Teamed with these new signing Dave can also not speak more highly of the wealth of local talent at his disposal including All Ireland Hero Kieran “Star” Donaghy (6”6 small forward), Michael Quirke (6”7 Center),Aidan Holden, Liam Dowd, Kevin O’ Donaghue, Tim Cronin and Timmy Collins. Added to these youngsters is the experienced legendry John Teahan and Roscoe Patterson.

With this depth Dave is intent to once again make Aberakebabra Tigers to be a force to be reckoned with on the Irish basketball scene.
